Adobe Photoshop Express – Free Photoshop Online
Adobe announced the Adobe Photoshop Express public beta for free. Photoshop Express is a web application that takes Adobe’s image editing technology and allows users to edit, store and share up to 2GB of images online, as well as downloading and uploading photos from popular social networking sites like Facebook.

How to sign up Adobe Photoshop Express?
Photoshop Express public beta is open for free registration now at the website. Flash Player 9 is required and fast Internet connection is recommended. The registration form claims to be for United States only, you can ignore that one. ;)
Once you are registered, you will get a Photoshop Express personal sharing URL like http://liewcf.photoshop.com/
Getting start with Adobe Photoshop Express
After login, you see the 3 main section of Photo Express: My Photos, My Gallery, and Browse.
“My Photos” is where you edit photos and create albums. “My Gallery” is the place to view and share your albums. “Browse” to see the galleries and albums by other Photo Express members.
To get started, you need to upload photos, therefore the “Upload Photos” is highlighted.
You can upload multiple photos at once with the Photo Express uploader. Choose upload to library, new album or an existing album.
My Photos on Photoshop Express
In “My Photos”, your uploaded photos are listed in grids by default. You can set the thumbnail size, how they are sorted and different view mode. On left hand side, there are Library, Albums, and Other Sites.
“Library” list all your photos and also recently uploaded/edited photos. You can drag & drop photos into an Album to group them together.
Under “Other Sites”, you can upload Photoshop Express to other image hosting websites (photobucket and picasa, no Flickr) and Facebook.
I tested the Facebook link. It downloads my existing photos and albums on Facebook. To upload photos from Photoshop Express to Facebook, simply drag & drop photos to the Facebook album. They are synced!
You can also create Facebook photos album on Photoshop Express but there is no way to delete or rename Facebook album on Photoshop Express.
Editing photo on Photoshop Express
Simply double-click your photo on Photoshop Express to edit it. It will take some time to load the online image editor. There are various image editing tools available. Most tools give you instant previews of the tool effect, which is great for beginner.
But, Photoshop Express’s image editor does not have a TEXT tool to add text on the photo. Too bad.
Every changes on the photo is saved. You can undo the changes, one by one or multiple changes at once, at anytime even few days later. However, you cannot save the edited photo as a new file.
My two cents
Overall, Photoshop Express allows you to easily edit your photos online. No more installation of image editing software. Perhaps it is the limitation of Flash application, the response time of Photoshop Express is rather slow sometimes.
The ability to sync photos with Facebook is a big plus point for all Facebook fans. Now they can touch the photos online before upload to Facebook albums. Remember, Photoshop Express provides 2GB storage space for your photos (Facebook allows unlimited photo uploads though).
Will I use Photoshop Express? Not really. I don’t upload photos to Facebook. Although support other image hosting websites, but Photo Express does not support my favorite Flickr. Too bad.
