Features of Apple iPhone 4
Apparently, the leaked iPhone in April is the final version of Apple iPhone 4. So, not surprised about the phone design, though still looks great.
iPhone 4 is 24% thinner than the iPhone 3GS and is made from stainless steel and glass. The stainless steel band is also part of the antenna system (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, UMTS, GSM) of the phone. iPhone 4 has secondary mic for noise cancellation.
The front and back glass cover of iPhone 4 is chemically strengthened to be 20 times stiffer and 30 times harder than plastic, plus ultra-durable and more scratch resistant (read: Bye-bye, iPhone cases).
iPhone 4 has two builtis-in cameras: 5 megapixel back-camera with LED flash and backside illumination sensor; a front camera for video calling. The back-camera is also capable of taking HD videos (720p) up to 30fps with audio.
With the new technology called Retina Display, iPhone 4 screen is 960×640 pixel with 326 pixels per inch, the highest resolution phone screen ever. Graphic and text would be super sharp.
Like Apple iPad, iPhone 4 is powered by A4 chip handle complex jobs, such as multitasking, editing movie on iPhone using iMovie for iPhone and, at the same time, maximizing battery life. The iPhone 4 has up to 40% longer battery life than iPhone 3GS.
iPhone 4 is the first phone with built-in 3-axis gyroscope for more motion gestures and greater precision for better gaming experience.
iPhoneOS 4 is now iOS 4
iPhone 4 comes with iOS 4, which previously known as iPhoneOS 4, and all its features: multitasking, iAds, Folders, iBooks, etc.

FaceTime, the video call app
“FaceTime” (name inspired by FaceBook?) allows you to make free video calls over Wi-Fi connection (maybe support 3G network in the future) without special account or username. It has a button to easily switch between the 2 build-in cameras.
Apple iPhone 4 prices
iPhone 4 comes in two colors, Black and White. In US, the price is USD$199 for 16GB model, and USD$299 for the 32GB model (both 2 years contract with AT&T).
iPhone 4 availability
Pre-orders start next week at June 15th, 2010. iPhone 4 will be shipping in 5 countries at June 24: US, France, Germany, UK and Japan.
In July 2010, iPhone 4 will be available in 18 more countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland. In August 2010, 24 more countries will be added and 44 more countries in September.
88 countries will get iPhone 4 by September 2010.
My two cents
As a current iPhone 3GS user, since iOS4 is free upgrade, the only reason I would get iPhone 4 is for its dual cameras and longer battery life. Other than that, nothing is ground-breaking.
If you are not an iPhone user yet, then forget about iPhone 3GS and get the iPhone 4. :)
