Have you create your web page design based on free CSS layouts? Now, it’s time to optimize your CSS code. I found a web based tool to do that for you!

CSS Tweak is a web based CSS tweaker to optimize your CSS code. It takes three steps to optimize your CSS code.

  1. Submit your CSS code. You can submit by uploading your CSS file or paste the code in the website.
  2. Tweak it. Select the tweaking options (e.g. fonts, backgrounds, borders, lists, etc).
  3. Download it. The process is very fast. You are provided with a file icon to download your optimized CSS code.

My CSS file is 12% smaller after optimization! (used “Remove White-Space” option)

Note: the “Remove White-Space” option generate the smallest file size but the code is almost human unreadable (all code in one line).

My two cents

This is quite useful tool. I tried “Leave My Layout Alone!” option and got 1% smaller file. Well, better than none, right? “Tweak for IE” feature is in the project’s ToDo list. I am looking forward for it.
