DiGi iPhone 4S Launch Event in Malaysia
Editor’s note: LiewCF Tech Blog has been invited to DiGi iPhone 4S launch event in 15th night. Joshua Tee attended the event and witnessed the 1st DiGi iPhone 4S owner in store.
9.45pm – Long line outside DiGi 360 SoHo KL.
DiGi had their iPhone 4S midnight sales launch at DiGi 360 SoHo KL at midnight of 16th December 2011. More than 60 people had lined up to get their iPhone before everyone else.
The first one in line was Chin Fe, who was waiting to pick up the phone since 6pm and was standing in line since 8.30pm.
DiGi started giving out numbering along with time slots at 10pm so that customers won’t had to stand in line for the next few hours.
10.00pm – Chin Fei got his No. 1 number for DiGi iPhone 4S.
DiGi had many of their staff coming from DiGi HQ to help out with the 48 hours in store sales, and the process of the purchasing had been made as pain-free as possible for customers to make sure they can get in and get out with their phone as fast as possible.
And, DiGi had prepared popcorns and lots of foods for those who are still waiting around to get their phone, also a comfortable place for them to hang out while waiting for their turn. Very nice!
On 12am, the door opened and welcome the first batch of DiGi iPhone customers. The promoter explained everything the customers need to know about DiGi iPhone plan before their purchases to make sure everyone know what they are getting into.
Soon after 12am – Chin Fe, the first walk-in customer walk away with his White 32GB iPhone 4S
DiGi is selling iPhone 4S at 160 DiGi stores nationwide. So you won’t need to come all the way down to KL just to get the iPhone 4S. Check your DiGi store nearby, there is a great possibilities that they will have it since day 1.
Interesting to know that you can also get the iPhone 4S online via their DiGi Store, you will get your phone the same day as those who lined up in stores. Apparently, some phones were shipped a bit too early. Some lucky customers got their DiGi iPhone 4S a day earlier. Thanks to the over-efficient courier.
1st online customer got his iPhone 4S
DiGi’s 1st online customer Chin Chee Min received iPhone 4S from Ramesh Rajandran, DiGi’s Head of eBusiness.
I like that DiGi offer an alternative to buy iPhone 4S online and it will be perfect for people like me who won’t want to step out of my house, but get everything online.
