Google Art Project – 3D Virtual Tour Of Museums In The World
You love arts and wish to visit the museums around the world to see the artworks in greatest details. Your dream comes true with Google Art Project.
Google Art Project is a 3D site that allows you to explore museums around the world and discover and view more than a thousand artworks online in extraordinary details.
Over the last 18 months Google has worked with 17 art museums in Europe and USA, and the result of this partnership, which can be explored at www.googleartproject.com involved taking a selection of super high resolution images of famous artworks, as well as collating more than a thousand other images into one place. It also included building 360 degree tours of individual galleries using Street View ‘indoor’ technology.
With Google Street View technology, you can move around the gallery virtually in 360 degree and click on the artworks you interested to zoom into high resolution images or discover more info about it.
Moving around in the 3D museum is smooth with my 1Mbps broadband connection. The art work detail level is amazing. Here is the sample image I zoom in to the max.
