Firefox 1.0.3 is a security update that is part of our ongoing program to provide a safe Internet experience for our customers. We recommend that all users upgrade to this latest version.

Here’s what’s new in Firefox 1.0.3:

* Several security fixes.
* Fix to improve update process.

The security fixes are:
MFSA 2005-33 Javascript “lambda” replace exposes memory contents
MFSA 2005-34 Javascript: PLUGINSPAGE code execution
MFSA 2005-35 Showing blocked javascript: popup uses wrong privilege context
MFSA 2005-36 Cross-site scripting through global scope pollution
MFSA 2005-37 Code execution through javascript: favicons
MFSA 2005-38 Search plugin cross-site scripting
MFSA 2005-39 Arbitrary code execution from Firefox sidebar panel II
MFSA 2005-40 Missing Install object instance checks

Thought:
Though Firefox 1.0.3 does not has much new features, but it is the latest security update for the browser. Users are recommended to update, too.

Before you upgrade current version, please take note:

Prior to installing Firefox 1.0.3, please ensure that the directory you’ve chosen to install into is clean and doesn’t contain any previous Firefox installations.

Please uninstall previous version of Firefox before you install the latest version.

Your browser profile, bookmarks, installed theme and extensions will retain because they are stored in another folder location. For safety, I still recommend you backup your profile folder.

Updated: Done. I am using Firefox 1.0.3 now, no any data lost. :)
