K-Meleon – Lighter and Speedier Browser

K-Meleon 0.9 is the latest release of the fast and customizable browser that can be used instead of Internet Explorer on Windows. Powered by the same Gecko engine as the Firefox and Mozilla browsers, K-Meleon provides users with a secure browsing experience. K-Meleon features include:

Read /. and know about this Firefox twins. In fact, K-Meleon is elder than Firefox. ;)

K-Meleon has simple interface like Firefox, some useful plugins like mouse gesture are installed by default. Those plugins make it handy to be used just after the installation. I can use K-Meleon without install any plugin and feel quite comfortable with it. The K-Meleon use less memory and fast startup on my old Pentium 3. It also loads web pages faster, faster than the fast Firefox. :) The browser configuration is simple and straight forward. IF you are geek, you can edit the plain text config files to control the browser, which, not recommend for normal users.

Thought:
I don’t wish to compare K-Meloen with Firefox(both using same core) but I can’t help. K-Meleon is suitable for experienced user who just want to have a simple, secure and lighter browser. If you are using old PC like me and found Firefox startup slow then try K-Meleon. On my old Pentium 3(256MB, Win2K), Firefox took more than 10 seconds to startup, and K-Meleon took around 5 seconds!

Internet Explorer? Oh. BOTH Firefox and K-Meleon is better than IE. Period. :P
