Second Anniversary of Full-time Blogging

2nd anniversary of full-time bloggingThis is my 2nd anniversary of full-time blogging blog post series which I share with you about the insights of a Malaysian full-time blogger:

Yesterday, 9 September 2007, marked my second year of full-time blogging since 2005. Oh yes, I am still surviving! My life has not much changes since my 1st year of full-time blogging. Instead of blogging, let’s talk about something personal.

I got a little tummy. I am 180cm tall and weight 86KG. A little overweight. 80KG should be ideal. I am looking for a strong reason to push me. “Why should I lose weight, as long as I am healthy?”

I am still single and looking for another half to complete my life. Two of my ex-girlfriends already married this year. gosh I have forgot how many years I have been single since last break up. More and more friends are getting married soon. I wonder when is my turn? Where is “she”?

I have more money. Thanks for the increasing revenues, my bank books have very beautiful transactions records. Even the bank manager recognizes me, “This guy make money online!”. My monthly expenses is a little. I put the rest of money in bank and mutual funds. Soon, I will invest in stock market.

I have no car (yet). I could buy myself a car now but I haven’t done so. I still spend 70 cents to take public bus to town and walk in Kluang town from west to east. “Why buy a car? I don’t really need one.” is my answer to my friends when they asked. However, under their “pressure” and in order to find a girlfriend faster, I am planning to buy a car soon. Maybe a Honda City or Toyota Vios, Myvi also not bad.

I plan to buy a house. Instead of spending money on a car, I think house is a better investment. I am not going to buy a house in my hometown. Maybe buy one in Johor Bahru or KL/Selangor.

Frankly speaking, I did doubt about how long time I can survive by blogging. “Will it burst?” “What else can I do if I don’t blog?” “Will I back to 9am-5pm office?” But these questions do not stay in my mind for more than a minute. I dislike to have negative ideas in my brain. Just do whatever you think you should do now.

Full-time blogging is lonely. People around me still do not understand what is “blogging”. To them, I am a guy who…

  • does not need to work
  • stays online at home
  • earns a lot of money
  • very free

Yes, I have control over my own time and make more money than average, but I still have works to do! Yes, I am free to travel at anytime but I hardly find a partner to go with me. That’s sad.

I am looking for someone to share with me…

In order to balance my loneliness, I will read more books. Reading is a good way to put everything aside. I like to read stories of successful persons, learn about how they got around their most difficult time.

I don’t have big plans for future. Just focus on what I am doing now, do it step-by-step, and make necessary changes as it developes.

Last but not least, thank you for your continuous support. Please add a word or two in the comment for my 2nd year anniversary of full-time blogging. Thank you very much! bow

  1. Congrats on the milestone! it’s only my half year anniversary though ;)

Well, life aren’t 100% perfect. perhaps the downside of working home is less social life, especially that you are back to hometown. For me, i’ll just drive around to meet my friends for lunch then drop by the nearby mall to shop when I feel bored. Lucky I’m in city!

I’m sure you will find ‘her’. oh yea, get a car. It is difficult to get a gf without a car. err…. i’m speaking from a citygirl point of view…

  2. Doing full time in this internet business need not be lonely. It depends on how we handle our daily routine. I have been doing this full time for more than 5 years. I’ve never felt lonely simply because I always share with others about this online opportunity whenever people asked me about it.

Share with them the knowledge and be ready to help them start one. Then mentor them for free and build up a group where you can then organize to meet up regularly to share new ideas and techniques. Lead this group and keep it growing. Before long, you will realized that you have people in the group that comes from all walks of life and everyone is closely knitted with the same objectives of making money from the internet. Just make sure that you are helping them with sincerity and not due to money.

As for GF, my time is over, so can’t advice much on that. Already got a 13 & 15 year old teenagers at home. Go and get a car for convenience sake if you could afford it. Not that girls won’t fall for you if you don’t have a car. Just that it will helps.

So all the best and have many more good years to come…..

  3. Well, what other way to meet girls besides working? Study, take up some part time course in business, management or accounting to better prepare you for your future investment in the share market, you’ll also get to meet other girls in your course. just a part time course.

  4. Liew,

How I wish to be in your position to earn money at home. Getting rid of 9-5 type of job is everybody’s dream. Look at the bright, how many people can earn money while they are sleeping?

You should not feel lonely, you have so many liewcf.com reader and supporters. If you ever come to Wellington, you can visit me and I can bring you to tour around Wellington.

Just one humble advice, you may want to diversify your online investment, may be should have more than one money generating website?

    Bob

  5. Has been three or four months since I follow your blog. Congratulations about this two years blogging and earning money through it. It has to be the one of the best reason to keep pushing on. :D

To the record and stadistics, I’m following you from Dominican Republic. A too far, far away place. The mostest beautiful in the entire world.

    See ya soon back.

  6. Congratulations and good luck!

I hate to say it, but it could be that buying a car might make it easier to date girls. I don’t know your particular situation very well. That doesn’t mean you have to drive it to work. If you’re walking every day that’s a lot better than driving everywhere.

About your weight–it might be a good idea to get into better shape. Do they have organizations like Weight Watchers there? That might be another way of meeting girls. As much as I love reading, I think you might be less lonely if you meet more people.

Thanks for letting us get to know you better.

  7. “Just one humble advice, you may want to diversify your online investment, may be should have more than one money generating website?

    Bob”

As Bob is saying, you need to diversify.BTW, what do you sell?
I see so many google ads on your site and if that how you make money you better think of Plan B when google inactivate your google adsense account for click fraud.
Google just inactivate my account w/o even providing reason(s) , just saying click fraud and I have to prove I am innocent?? Worst still, I have no means to call? write? or send an email?
Oh well,Goolge is becoming toooo big and arrogant and they can do practically anything they want.
As most of the forumers were saying, google inactivate the account so they don’t have to pay.

Check out my sites:www.WineInWashington.com and I have many wine domains and http://www.durianroom.com
    http://www.Sportygears.com http://www.adidasgears.com
    porno sites too.
I have about 150 domains and I will NEVER depend on google anymore, I use affiliation programs or lease my domains out.
Well, when you are in Msia, you are kind of limited in your internet business.

    Take care

    2. Yeah, me experience those reasons above. because we’re working for ourself, no punch in punch out 9-5. *sigh*

  9. Congrats bro.

Companies with stake in web frontier wouldn’t hesitate to hire you. Just for your brand liewcf, wow, you worth a lot man!

or you could start some side ventures, becoming a director to companies, they will need your brand power too.

or, you could hand on a bit, accumulate more money, become a venture capitalist.

As a blogger, IT entrepreneur, I admire and respect your achievement.

Malaysia is proud of you too.

  10. Regarding this.. “What else can I do if I don’t blog”.. mentoring ( or giving training ) will be a good alternative.. :D

  11. lucky liew. don’t worry, i don’t think your blog will burst or whatever. with the reputations that you have built, if it burst, you can always write for a tech magazine (example). :D

keep up the good work and happy anniversary (again!)

  12. Hi liew, maybe you not remember me, but just wanna say something here. I started blogging because of you. Yes, this is true. I have read your story about blog from “Personal money”.I still have that magazine with me. It’s change my life.

I started on October 2006, next month will be my 1 year anniversary and that’s great. my income maybe not much, but I have 3 figures income every month with my online activities. I’m now full time blogger and drop out from my University.

I have choose internet as my life, maybe everyone will tell me why I don’t complete my degree, but I think online passion is in my blood. I can’t focus on blogging when I was study, and I had make a decision and choose blogging.

I can tell you that you are not alone. Everyone who comment here are with you. If one day you come to KL, feel free to join me in starbuck, I always at there to drink and online.

  13. Hey Liew,
Congrats~~ That’s very cool. Keep up the good job, I love to read your blog.

About the weight thing, I think you should do it, so that you will be in a better shape, feeling healthier and more confidence…that’s the first step to get a girl of your life. (Not saying that girls look at guys appearance only, but don’t we all take the appearance as the first impression?) This, will be a strong enough reason to push you ^^ (I lost 10kg cause the power of love)

It’s good to have more money, wish you succeed in the stock market. Taking public transportation is actually good, especially in a busy city. I hate traffic jams. It not long make you healthier when you walk around, it also a portion of saving the environment (imagine if half the country citizen choose to use public transportation rather than driving their own car, pollution gonna reduce by half~) But if you want to gain convenience to date a girl, you don’t have to go for a too fancy car, as long as you are comfortable with it (the car).

Buying a house is good, that’s my dream! Other than reading books, you can also do many other things – join a social club (maybe ‘she’ is there), go for a swim, or whatever that can make you move around rather than sitting in front of the computer. Oh yea, look more on green plants, good for the eye.

Maybe you can treat “keeping fit and getting a gf” a BIG plan from now on. ^^

Once again congrats on your anniversary and all the best to you.

  14. hahahahaa…Liew ah.. you are really getting too lonely. I counted the words, lonely, find a parner, married, at least five times.

Don’t worry lah..you so smart sure got lot of girls like you wan!!

  15. congrats on your 2nd anniversary, liew. you are doing very well and earning lots i see (envy). keep going in full force!

get a car for convenience sake… don’t get a car because you want a gf… you will end up with a materialistic gf, who love your car not you! at this time with your kind of income, you should get a car already… and a house… for yourself, then go look for a gf. :)

  16. want to recommend you a singapore girl? :-)

i’ve been following your blog for a long time

i wanna emulate in your footsteps

well keep on blogging and making money!

  17. You’re Not Alone :) all your reader here was a proof! Maybe you can consider to pick up a course @ college? Got lotsa hot babe there :P anyway i believe it all about fate, be patient & chill . Happy Birthday to Liewcf.com

  18. If I were like you, I will start a small business, being online or physical. This is to help, should the online blog revenue drop.

As many people will say, don’t put all eggs in one basket. Also, good to learn another skill.

  19. Happy Anniversary, Liew. May you have many more anniversaries.

Thanks for all the useful posts. I’ve learned a lot from your blog.

I’m sure you’ll find the right girl soon enough. Get a car, it will make things easier. :)

  20. Congratulations, Liew. Your blog has been a great resource to me for WordPress stuff and strategies to make money online. Keep up the good work.

I’m interested to know how you pointed the “Job Search” page link in the header to a different sub-domain.

  21. Congratulations Liew! Keep up the good work!

As for the gf issue, maybe you should marry straight away? ;) Having a family for a full time blogger is a great thing, solves the loneliness issue (from my own experience).

  22. Hi! CF

Congratulation! Two years was a long way. However, they are more two-years to come by. Keep the enthusiam, persistency and zest! One day, you will reach the top. So, see you at the top!

    Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer!

koopyman – cool and happy man

  23. 24. Wow, two years gone in a blink of eyes. Congratulate on your achievement!

Just do what you think is best for you, set it and let go, that’s all you need to do. Don’t think too much, it traps you in an infinite twilight zone.

    Cheers.

  25. LiewCF, maybe you should go for a travel and share the experience with us. since many of us want to know how the tech bloggers enjoyed themselves most of them time. I understand your loneliness towards any girlfriends. for me, your age is already suitable for a marriage. Maybe you should buy a car, house as your future asset, as an attraction to get a decent lady as your wife. Yeah Liew, go for a vacation, who knows, maybe you will find your future girlfriend there?..

  26. many congrats on achieving this milestone Liew…..

I’d say take good care of your health if you want to enjoy your earnings … join a gym and of course buy a car for the convenience and independence that public transportation cannot provide…

and of course starting some coaching/mentoring service would be a great way to stay in the business and garner new friendships

    my best wishes to you

  27. hehehe… time is flying! Count count and found that you also kacau + buli me for almost 2 years!? (Correct ah?) Well, get a vehicle for yourself is not for the purpose to get urself a girl girl ma. With your own transport then you dont have to inform ppl that “no bus”, “heavy rain wor” while you waiting for the public transport at bus stop. Then when reach bus station and outside is raining heavily, you dont need to plan to “swim” to your destination ma… hahahaha… sound familiar? :P Somemore hor, you can fetch mama to here and there anytime dont have to wait for brother sister liao lor… rite?

  28. Gratz! I think you are doing pretty well with that income, keep it up. And about being alone, don’t just write about it, do something! :) Cheers

  29. congrats LcF. spend some time and invest in some mutual funds. i’m eager to know more about this too and plan to do a bit research about this.

and don’t forget to start a category about investments if u start investing. i’m sure this will bring more ppl to ur site.

  30. You’re an great contribution to the Malaysia Internet community! Life is not meant to be easy, but it’s good to see that you take stock of your position and reflect on your achievements. I hope you find your right partner and someone to share your success!

  31. congratulations lcf for making it to your 2nd anniversary. i’ve seen you grow since you started in 2005. i am from the philippines and i admire people who can sustain efforts continuously. good work and hope your earnings will increase ten-folds in the years to come. btw, i really thought you were a girl (based on your pic).

Your special someone will come by at the right time. :)

  33. Congratulations on your 2nd anniversary. You are an inspiration to a lot of Malaysians who intend to go blogging full-time. Way to go, Liew. I’ve written to you a couple of time, and you you actually take the time and trouble to reply. You are a typical friendly Malaysian. Simple and down to earth, yet so successful. Keep it up and all the best!

  34. Happy 2nd Anniversary! I had been reading your blog for the past one year, not daily but occasionally. You maintain average one/half blog per day and when I came back to your site, I can always catch up those topics. Sorry, I did not read from your very early posts.

Your writing style is touchable and sincere. You tell the true with simple English. I believe you are the most respected blogger in Malaysia. I am thinking to become a blogger like you but truly have no time and not good in English writing.

I am also making money online, full time for the past 5 years. Mine is little bit different, I provide stock data service free for Malaysia traders. I am doing web business plus my personal investment. I am doing online stock trading as well.

When I am free, I read and explore more on internet business ideas. You may add more internet business as your sources of income. Take some time to build your own product/service, study CMS software as well as some Social Networking open source. I always compare your blog with http://www.johnchow.com who had really made a lot of money. I think you will close to him very soon.

Nice work! You are not lonely, you are super!

  35. Hi Liew,

I think you can have some exersice to get rid of tummy. I think you will putting on weight if you just exersice your eyes & fingers (while online). :)

  36. Hey just curious, how did you manage your taxes? Try Natural Cures for losing your tummy, eat those Vege, Fruits, or some alternative therapies like raw food therapies, or just simply EXERCISE!!

Being a fulltime blogger for sure you will be craving a lot of snacks that is very unhealthy!

  37. Congrats LiewCF!
My wish is the best in everything you do, including getting the partner you looking for.
You’re my mentor and always will be. I started seriously blogging becoz of you too. So pls keep it up, think positive and get a partner :D

hopefully that soon, so you can be a Papa too. All the best.
