U Mobile free internet roaming across Asia

U Mobile becomes the 1st Malaysia telco to offer FREE Internet roaming service across Asia for its postpaid customers. What is the catch, if any? Learn more about U Mobile free Internet roaming offer below.

Internet roaming allows you to stay online while travelling while still using the same SIM card in your phone. Travellers know Internet roaming is very, very expensive!

U Mobile’s free Internet roaming offer is now active for all U Mobile postpaid subscribers who are travelling to 7 places in ASIA: Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan.

Subscribers will enjoy FREE 50MB of mobile internet data quota every day. 50MB data per day should enough for light online usage – chat with family & friends using social messengers (WhatsApp, WeChat, Line, KakaoTalk, etc), check-in and upload some photos to Facebook, and check emails from your boss.

If you are too excited to share moments online and used up 50MB free data quota, you will be charged pay-as-you-use rates but with a maximum of RM30 per day.

No manual subscription or signup is required. U Mobile postpaid subscribers will be prompted with an SMS upon arrival at the mentioned destinations and can instantly enjoy free Internet roaming.

Make sure you manually select the U mobile roaming operator for the country to enjoy the free offer. Else, you will be charged for expensive pay-as-you-go rate.

Spotify in China

Spotify in China

Spotify in China is here! No special setup needed. Tested by LiewCF in Nanning, China on Windows.

I am in Nanning, China when the news break. Though China is not included in the supported countries, I install the Spotify desktop app nevertheless and…

Tada! Spotify works in China, too!

It is a pleasant surprise. I thought it won’t work in other part of China. Hong Kong is part of China but it is a “special administrative region“. Hong Kong only services should not work outside Hong Kong, right?

I am sharing this piece of information for the benefit of people in China (or everyone visits China). This has not been thoroughly tested. I may make a mistake.

If you are in China, please help to verify that Spotify is working or not?

(I wrote this in Nanning hotel with Spotify playing beautiful classical music.)
