Huawei Device Malaysia is having a “Finding Huawei” contest with over RM 2.5 million worth in prizes and gifts.

“‘Finding Huawei’ campaign is a push towards extending awaremess of the Huawei brand in Malaysia”, says Alan An, Product Manager for Huawei Consumer Business Group Malaysia

The online contest on Huawei Device Malaysia Facebook page comprises 2 contest to win daily, weekly or monthly prizes. The prizes include shopping vouchers and Huawei smartphones, and 3 monthly prizes of travel vouchers worth RM 10,000 each.

The first contest runs from 16 November to 15 December 2013. You will need to upload photos with any Huawei products or ads and complete a slogan.

The second contest runs from 16 December 2013 to 14 February 2014. It requires you to spot the difference between two pictures uploaded on Huawei Device Malaysia Facebook page and also complete a slogan.

Winners will be selected based on the creativity of photo or slogan. Daily winners will win shopping vouchers worth RM100 each. Weekly winners will win a Huawei Ascend P6 or Huawei Ascend Mate each.

Throughout the online contest duration (16 Nov 2013 – 14 Feb 2014), Huawei customer who purchased selected Huawei products – Ascend P6, Mate, G700, G610, G525, G510, E5776, Vogue and Youth – between 1 January 2013 and 14 February 2014 sstand a change to win one of the three monthly prizes – RM 10,000 travel voucher – by participating in either contests mentioned above and submit their device’s IMEI number for verification.

In total, there are 273 daily prizes (RM100 shopping voucher), 26 weekly prizes (Ascend P6 or Ascend Mate) and 3 monthly prizes (RM10,000 travel voucher)

Also, Huawei customer with existing Huawei mobile device can walk into participating Huawei authorized reseller

Also, customer with an existing Huawei mobile device and purchase selected new Huawei device – Ascend P6, P2, Mate, G700, G510, Mobile W-Fi E5776, MediaPad Vogue and Youth – from participating Huawei authorized reseller will receive a free gift (while stocks last).

OLDTOWN White Coffee has launched The Animaction Challenge, a design and animation contest runs from 8 July to 8 October 2013. Students and professionals aged 18 and above are invited to design and create Malaysia’s next big icon.

Lee Siew Heng, Group Managing Director, Oldtown Berhad said, “…we want to bring the future generation in our country together on a journey to create an icon that symbolizes Malaysia’s cultural values. We believe that The Animaction Challenge would be a relevant and engaging platform for professionals, students, freelancers and even hobbyists to better understand the nation’s true identity.

The Animaction Challenge

The Animaction Challenge divided into 2 categories: Student and Professional.

The student category requires participants to submit their entries on an individual basis in either PNG or JPEG format.

The professional category is open to team submissions of up to maximum of 4 persons, and requires to submit a 3D animation of no longer than 2 minutes in MOV or MP4 format.

All entry submissions will be evaluated based on originality, innovation, creativity, technical excellence and visual impact by a leading panel of judges.


Winners of the contest will stand a chance to win cash and production grant worth up to RM37,000 for the Student Category and RM52,000 for the Professional Category:

Student Category
* Grand Prize: RM25,000 worth of cash and production grant
* 1st Runner-up: RM7000 cash
* 2nd Runner-up: RM3000 cash
* 10x Consolation: RM200 worth of OLDTOWN White Coffee Vouchers each

Processional Category
* Grand Prize: RM35,000 worth of cash and production grant
* 1st Runner-up: RM10,000 cash
* 2nd Runner-up: RM5000 cash
* 10x Consolation: RM200 worth of OLDTOWN White coffee Vouchers each

  • Low JianWei, Lighting Technical Director at Rhythm & Hues (worked on “Life of Pi” movie)
  • Mohd. Safwan Karim, Operations Director and Co-Founder of Animonsta Studios (mind behind Malaysia’s famous animated icon, BoBoiBoy)

  2. Visit P1 Buddy facebook page to upload your photo and fill in the contest form.
  3. Ask all your family, relatives, friends, and strangers to “like” your photo.
  4. Two highest votes (likes) photos each week will win iPad mini each.

You can only submit your entry once. Your uploaded photo must contain P1 promoters in uniform in their respective P1 Sales Points. Also, only photos receive at least 50 likes will be qualified for winning.
