WD My Cloud OS 3 with Better Photo Sharing, Backup, and Synchronization
WD introduced a new My Cloud OS 3 operating system with better photo sharing, backup features, and file synchronization, as well as Software Developer Kit (SDK) and a dual-drive My Cloud Mirror personal cloud storage.
The new WD My Cloud OS 3 enable you to share files, backup and sync to your personal cloud while retaining the privacy and control with the storage device physically located in home or office.
My Cloud OS 3 features powerful new photo and video capabilities via two new user experiences: MyCloud.com and My Cloud Albums app.
MyCloud.com allows you to access your My Cloud from anywhere via a web browser. It enables file collaboration, access management and offer photos & videos gallery view. Setup only takes a minute by visiting http://mycloud.com/setup
MyCloud.com does not store or cache any of your files, the web interface only makes a P2P connection between your computer/mobile device and My Cloud storage device. Up to 5 version of your files are saved so that you can undelete a file or restore a file to a previous version.
My Cloud Albums app is available for free download on Apple App Store and Google Play Store. It allows you to generate a public or private link to share a folder or “album” on My Cloud to all friends and family.
WD Sync is a new feature in My Cloud OS 3. It syncs data across multiple PCs and notebooks, ensuring your files are up to date and available from almost any device. By default, WD Sync sync user’s default folders like Documents, Pictures. You can also setup automatic camera roll backup of photos from smartphones and tablets. A new transfer tool allows you to easily move files to My Cloud devices. The My Cloud OS 3 also supports Chromebook and Chromecast.
WD also introduced My Cloud Device SDK and My Cloud API enable developers to build new extensions, features and capabilities to the 1.6M My Cloud personal cloud storage devices. My Cloud Device SDK is based on the Docker open platform technology. Plex (personal media management & stream) and Milestone (video surveillance solutions) are examples of WD partners who already developing new features based on the new SDK.
Beside software upgrades, a new version of My Cloud Mirror personal cloud storage devices also available. It features two hard drives set to Mirror Mode (RAID 1) — every file stores on one drive is automatically duplicated to the second drive. New My Cloud Mirror uses improved  processor and 512MB RAM for faster file transfer and application support.

My Cloud OS 3 is available for free download at the end of September 2015 on current My Cloud personal cloud storage devices: My Cloud, My Cloud Mirror, My Cloud Expert Series EX2/EX4, My Cloud Expert Series EX2100/EX4100 and My Cloud Business Series DL2100/DL4100.
New WD My Cloud mobile apps available on Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Access to My Cloud Device SDK and My Cloud API is available to interested developers late September 2015.
New My Cloud Mirror (Gen.2) suggested retail price is RM1,299 (4TB), RM1,729 (6TB), RM2,129 (8TB), available in October 2015. All WD My Cloud devices are available at selected retailers and are distributed by Amble Action Sdn Bhd and Eternal Asia (M) Sdn Bhd.
