Why I Do Not Buy Dell E207WFP 20-inch LCD Monitor
Previously, I told you that I was tempting to buy the new (and cheap) Dell E207WFP Wide Screen LCD monitor. I take back my word now and decided to wait for price drop of Dell 2007WFP UltraSharp 20-inch LCD monitor
Here are the reasons I gave up E207WFP, the cheap 20-inch LCD monitor:
- We believe that E207WFP is using TN panel. TN panel is low cost and fast response time, but poor viewing angles and deliver less saturated colours. (Comparing TN, MVA, and IPS panels)
- E207WFP stand has non swivel and height adjustment.

E207WFP is good if you have less budget or play games (fast response time).
I love the color display of my current Dell UltraSharp 1704FPT 17-inch LCD Monitor, so I might as well get a 20-inch UltraSharp LCD monitor — Dell 2007WFP.
- Get the Latest Price on the Dell 2007WFP.
- Compare prices on the Dell 2007WFP.
i should have know this is too good to be true. I almost got myself that 20inch wide screen monitor, i guess i have to wait for the 19inch untrasharp monitor now. 20 inch wide would be great if the price is right. :)
Dude,
You need 2ms of response time to play games, not 5ms.
As for the “poor viewing angles and deliver less saturated colours” argument, I doubt you’re going to work from a 170-degree angle as you would most probably plant your butt right in front of the monitor, right?
Less saturated colors? Unless you’re into desktop publishing and the like, everyday use like reading news and updating blogs won’t really matter.
thanks…planning to get one…:)
what is the different between E207WFP and and 2007WFP?
@Jack: E207WFP is low-end 20-inch LCD monitor with fast response time. 2007WFP is high-end 20-inch LCD monitor with s-video/composite input, usb hub and sharper color display.
Viewing angle is pretty much irrelevant your going be planted right in front of it and if saturation is an issue turn the digital vibrance up a noch in the nVidia control panel. Height adjustable? chuck a book under it. No Swivel? it only weighs 8 kgs, turn the whole thing whichever way you want it facing. It aint a 38kg 21 CRT
Well… The viewing angle on the E207WFP is 160 degrees while the other is 89 degrees… So the cheaper one has the better viewing angel.
The response time on the 2007WFP is 16ms so it is much higher.
As for 2ms response times, good luck in an LCD monitor without paying $600+ and having any real estate.
As for colors… I own the predecessor of the E207WFP and I must say that it looked normal before I put it up against my UltraSharp 24″ monitor. Now I can see that what I settled for was muted colors.
You don’t need 2ms response time to game, that’s just retarded. I bet you’re one of those “gung-ho” CRT gamers aren’t you? Well guess what, I don’t need an old clunker hogging up my desk to kick ass in CS:S, and I’m using a “terrible” 8ms LCD (and it’s not even a good brand, it’s Rosewill).
People like you make me sick. Don’t go spurting out stuff, it makes you look dumb.
