Leaked?! The New Apple iPhone 4G and Features
Gizmodo claimed that they got the next-generation iPhone (iPhone 4G or iPhone HD) which is expected to be announced in WWDC 2010 in June.
You are looking at Apple’s next iPhone. It was found lost in a bar in Redwood City, camouflaged to look like an iPhone 3GS. We got it. We disassembled it. It’s the real thing, and here are all the details.
The so called iPhone 4G has a flat back, made of either glass or ceramic or plastic. The phone side is covered by aluminum border. The battery inside is larger.
New features of the maybe-real-iPhone-4G
According to Gizmodo survey, these are the new features in the iPhone 4G compared to iPhone 3GS:
- Front-facing camera (read: video chat!)
- Better back-camera
- Camera flash
- Micro-SIM (like iPad 3G)
- Improved display, maybe 960×640 pixels (double of iPhone 3GS)
- secondary mic for noise cancellation at the top, maybe
- Split buttons for volume
- Power, mute and volume buttons are all metallic
Real iPhone 4G?
Features wise, I hope it is real. the video chat camera and camera flash are among most wanted features of iPhone. Bigger battery means longer battery life. (iPad has an amazing battery life up to 12 hours)
However, I would not want to see micro-SIM in iPhone 4G. Currently, no mobile phone use the SIM card format, only iPad 3G. Micro-SIM need to be supported by your local telco.
I like the square shape and the aluminum border of the Gizmodo iPhone 4G. But I think it is only a prototype.
I don’t believe Apple would expose the two philips screws on iPhone. You don’t see screw on iPad, do you?
Over to You
