Chitika Tips: Change Ads Background Color
Previously, we could not change the background color of our Chitika eMiniMalls ad. This is bad if your website’s background is not white in color.
No worries now, because Chitika team have just updated the Chitika eMiniMalls code to support custom background colors (and tab colors).
Setting the background color of Chitika ads
There are two ways to do it:
- Use the code generator.
- Add in the code manually.
ch_color_bg = “#CCCCCC”;
#CCCCCC is the hex code for colors in HTML.

Is it perfect?
Not really… I discovered two problems while changing background colors.
I believe that you should have noticed this by now – the product’s background color is white. This cannot be changed unless the picture uses transparent background.
Secondly, we cannot change the grey tab shadow color.
My two cents
While waiting for the product background color to match the overall ad, I would advise you to use white as your website’s background color. Looks more appealing that way.
