Dump Gmail, Switch to Yahoo Mail

I never know I will do it… I am switching from Gmail to Yahoo! Mail :!:

A moment ago, I found that Gmail is having problem to handle email attachments, especially video attachments. I emailed the Gmail support team, and here is their reply.

Hello,

Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention. We have forwarded the
information you provided to the appropriate team for further
investigation. We appreciate your patience, and we apologize for any
inconvenience this may have caused.

Sincerely,

The Gmail Team

After the reply, there is no news from Google until now. The problem is still there, cannot send or receive email attachment in Gmail…

Therefore, I asked my friends to forward to my long-time-no-use Yahoo! Mail account, which has been upgraded to 250MB recently. Although the space is much smaller than Gmail’s 1GB, but Yahoo! Mail has no problem to handle any email attachments.

Compare Gmail to Yahoo! Mail, Gmail user interface is faster and “lighter”. Yahoo! Mail user interface is so heavy, BIG Flash ads… (well, my browser blocked all flash by default  ). I found that Yahoo! Mail does not open image attachment in new window. If you want to see the image in full size, you Must download it. I dislike this one. :???:

Anyway, has attacthment is always better than Gmail’s lost attachment…

One more, I cannot find Yahoo! Mail notifier, Gmail has official mail notifier. I use POPPeeper in office to notify me about new arrival emails. It supports POP mail, Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, and others, and it is FREE!

Thought:
Unless Gmail solve the attachment problem, else I don’t think I will using it again because my main purpose is to store those unwanted but don’t bear to delete forwarded email… attachments.

  1. I seem to have no problems with my Gmail account and can send and receive huge attachments. However, I still maintain my Yahoo and Hotmail accounts too. login at least once every week.

  2. Even though Yahoo is bull-shit (viewing the image attchement, lot of ads in every page etc), gmail could not beat it yet.
