WD Pro Series 2016: My Passport Wireless Pro and My Cloud Pro

Western Digital (WD) Malaysia introduced new WD Pro series: My Passport Wireless Pro WiFi mobile storage and My Cloud Pro series Network Attached Storage (NAS).

The new WD Pro series is designed specifically for the creative community. The storage devices enable seamlessly transfer content between devices, whether you are on a remote shoot, in the studio or editing at home.

The My Passport Wireless Pro and My Cloud Pro series are compatible with both Mac and PC file system (ExFAT), also compatible with Plex Media Server and My Cloud OS 3 software for easy editing, streaming and sharing of content. Also, the new My Cloud mobile app is now compatible with the Adobe Creative Cloud.

My Passport Wireless Pro

My Passport Wireless Pro Wi-Fi mobile storage is designed for professional photographers and videographers for easy and wireless offloading, editing and streaming photos and videos.

With the direct Wi-Fi connection, you can automatically backup photos/videos from compatible cameras. You can share your work on the drive with up to 8 other wireless connected devices.

It supports dual bands WiFi connection (2.4GHz and 5GHz 802.11ac) for fast wireless transfer speed. Power Saving mode will turn off the 5GHz band for longer battery life.

For faster file transfers, My Passport Wireless Pro includes a built-in SD 3.0 card reader (up to 104MB/s) and a USB 2.0 port (connect to a card reader or flash drive). Press a button and files will be automatically copied. The file is copied using byte-to-byte comparison for zero error file transfer.

My Passport Wireless Pro does not have a digital display, it uses 4 LED lights for status indicator. Drive status is also available in the mobile app.

Its built-in 6400mAh battery pack provides up to 10 hours of battery life. It can also be used to charge your other devices, such as phone, camera and video camera.

My Cloud mobile app with Adobe Creative Cloud connected enable you to quickly transfer photos and videos from the camera to drive and into Creative Cloud.

My Passport Wireless Pro is also the first WiFi mobile storage that is compatible with Plex Media Server. You can stream up to 4 contents to other devices while on-the-go.

My Cloud Pro NAS

My Cloud Pro Series NAS device is optimised to import from camera or memory card reader and other USB storage with one-touch USB import button at the front panel. Connect your USB device, press a button and new files are automatically imported.

My Cloud Pro NAS is powered by a quad-core Intel Pentium N3710 processor and 4GB RAM. It features a hardware accelerated video processor for on-the-fly transcoding capabilities. With Plex Media Server, your content is prepared for streaming in the right format and quality to any device.

Using WD’s My Cloud app, you can remote access My Cloud Pro NAS via an Internet connection and get media into the Adobe Creative Cloud.
