Microsoft has confirmed Windows 8 release date to be on October 26th, 2012. It wasby Steven Sinofsky, the president of the Windows and Windows Live Division at Microsoft, during the giant companyâ€™s annual sales meeting.

A Windows 8 Pro packaged DVD version will be available for USD$69.99 during upgrade promotion period till January 31st, 2013.
New Windows 7 users
If you purchased a Windows 7 PC between June 2, 2012 and January 31, 2013, you can getfor only USD$14.99.Â The last day to register and order your Windows 8 upgrade is February 28, 2013.
For your information, Microsoft was giving away FREE Windows 7 upgrade to new Windows Vista users in 2009. Now they are asking for USD$15.
