WordPress Trackback API is Not Working
WordPress trackback doesn’t work through desktop blogging clients.
Few days after I buying Ecto, I found that the trackback does not work through the blogging client. I thought it was Ecto’s problem, but even when I installed MarsEdit (another blogging client) the same problem persisted.
After checking Ecto’s support forum, the problem seemed to have been caused by a XML-RPC API bug in WordPress 1.5.2. A bug ticket has been submitted to WordPress.
My two cents
It is a minor problem because the trackback still works through the WordPress web interface. Hopefully, the bug would be fixed in the coming WordPress 1.6.

LcF, it’s probably because of the security’s issue that the API isn’t working. I’ve tried to blog photos from Flickr, which needs to use WP’s API, and it’s not working at all. Go to Flickr.com, to it’s Flickr Help forum and you’ll find something to the solution. There’s one, if you spend some time looking.
I use Marsedit. There’s also a problem with image uploads. Another issue is with post slugs not getting created if you edit and publish a post that had been a draft in WordPress.
