Do you play card games? I never play any card game before but I am now addicted to Hearthstone after playing for an hour.

Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is the latest game from Blizzard, the creators of world popular computer games like World of Warcraft, Diablo III and StarCraft 2. It is the company first’s free-to-play game. Yes, you can play it free at playhearthstone.com

Hearthstone is now available for Windows, Mac and iPad. The free card game will be available for other platforms in the future.

Simply download and install the game to play for free. You will need a free Battle.net account to play. The game download size is few hundreds MB. I installed Hearthstone on Windows 8.1, the installer automatically created Hearthstone shortcut to launch the game via Battle.net.

Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is a digital collectible card game in the Warcraft universe. It does not matter if you do not know Warcraft or never play any card game before (just like me!), Hearthstone is easy to get start for anyone. It has 6 easy to follow tutorial levels for new gamers to learn about the gameplay.

The game’s graphic is beautiful and detailed. I enjoy watching the virtual effects of each card’s attacks. The background music and sound effects are great, too. Best of all, you do not need high hardware specs to play the game!

The game has 9 Hero classes, each class has own unique cards and share same neutral cards. There are three main types of cards: minions, spells and weapons. Each card requires certain amount of “mana” to play. Each minion card has the attack point and health point.

Card drawing is random and depends on your luck… It is as simple as plus & minus ​attack and health points. However, a carefully planned strategy will ensure your victory. You win the game when you killed the Hero of opposite side.

When I am playing Hearthstone, I keep on counting the attack and health points against the enemies, while watching the Mana count and praying for a good card…

When you finished the first 6 levels, you then can play against other online Hearthstone players. The game will track your win and lose and find you an opponent with equal skills, so that you always have a fair and fun game.

Here’s a tip: After lost over 20 games, I found that you need to use custom deck to put your favourite cards together in order to win against other players. You can have 9 decks and each deck can hold 30 cards. Make use of them!

​You can play “Solo Adventure” mode against computer, unlock all Hero classes and start your adventure to win special cards.

Since each Hearthstone game will only take 10-15 minutes, it is perfect game for a short break in the middle or work, while waiting in queue, or in transit.

As you can see now, it is important to have powerful cards. You can get cards through Play mode and Solo Adventure. The game supports in-game purchase, you can buy cards using Battle.net Balance or other supported payment methods like MOLPoint in Malaysia.

Each card pack consists of five random cards. Cards can be common (white), rare (blue), epic (purple), or legendary (orange). Each card pack is guaranteed to contain at least one card of rare or better quality.

Personally, I prefer short, turn-by-turn and strategy games. These kind of games allow me to take a break, refresh my mind and no game timing pressure. No doubt, Blizzard’s Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is my new favourite game on Windows, Mac, and iPad.
