BlackBerry Z10 Specs
The 4.2-inch touchscreen (1280×768) smartphone is powered by 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, with microSD slot support up to 64GB cards. Running BlackBerry 10 operating system. 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. There’s also a microHDMI out port for presentation, NFC for mobile payments and file exchange.
Z10 Features & Hands-on
Z10 build quality is good, though not full metal. Remove the plastic back cover to reveal the battery and microSD slot.
No menu button. Z10 is designed for touchscreen gestures. Apps opening, closing, switching can be done with one hand one thumb gestures. Apps are running in 100% fullscreen.
The performance is good. I didn’t notice any sluggish while app launching and switching. However, I have difficulty to active the close app gesture by swiping up bottom edge of display. I guess it needs some practices.
The BlackBerry Hub is a convenient feature to have a glance of all app notifications and messages.
The virtual keyboard learns the words you use and how you use them so you can type faster and more accurately, according to BlackBerry.
The famous BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) now not only allows you to send free text messages but also make voice and video calls, as well as “screen share†feature during video call.
The Z10 camera app, like what we have seen on other smartphones, has a “Time Shift†feature allows you to choose the best moment of a shot. You tap in the camera app to take a picture. To focus an area, you tap & hold, release then tap again to take a shot.
