Hooray! New Google AdSense Ads Designs to Increase Your Revenue!
Google AdSense announced the new design for content ad units. The new formats are more space-efficient and visually pleasing. The redesigned ads performed “extremely well” (read: more revenue) during testing, according to Google AdSense team.
Here are the Google AdSense content ad unit changes:
- Leaderboard (728×90): the title, description, and URL are now arranged in rows instead of columns (except in the case when only one ad is showing)
- Medium and large rectangles (300×250, 336×280): the URL is now in the same line as the title
As far as I can remember, these are the first major changes to the designs of Google AdSense content ad units since it was launched.
The Google AdSense ad formats page hasn’t been updated to new designs when I checked.

How do you like the new designs? Or, you prefer the previous designs?
Personally, I got a “feeling” (the 6th sense of a full-time blogger) that the new AdSense ads units would increase Clickthrough rate (CTR) because the new designs easier blend into your content, URL moved to side (after title) helps to increase the eyeflow rate from top to bottom.
So far, I haven’t seen the new AdSense ads design on my blog yet. According to AdSense team, the changes will roll out over the next few weeks. I would love to see if the new designs actually increase or decrease my AdSense revenue. I’ll let you know.
Oh. Please share with us if you already have the new Google AdSense ads designs on your sites and tell us how’s the performance. :)

I would think that these adsense units would certainly be successful initially as readers have got used to the old format for quite sometime. The important thing is to see if it can generate a steady income in the long run.
The new changes look interesting but remains to be seen if it will work.
Some thing fresh has better chance of increasing the revenue. Let’s wait and watch.
yet to see the affect.. but seems like a good new design from Google adsense :)
Just saw the new format today. Hopefully, it will increase our revenue. ;)
This is a good news for all of the Adsense earners but there’s a need a lot of reviews for it to prove that it really provides a great revenue. I hope it will :)
I’ve been using 336×280 ads. Since it’s layout change took effect on my blog, the CTR dropped around 50%. Anyone else experiencing the same issue?
wow! that’s bad..
Yeah, I’m already earning very little and 50% cut is really upsetting.. that was for 4 days.. now it seems like CTR is slightly up.. will monitor for a while.
How was yours? CTR went up or down after ad layout change?
I only notice new adsense design on my blog yesterday. It’s still too
early to tell. :)
Everything changes with time, and changes play a important role in life, so Google AdSense is coming with changes, it is good news , we should go with new concept , new things .
much better if google remove this word “ads by google” and the Navigation “previous and next”
